Why use Calendae?

Using Calendae as your Outlook™ to manage your calendar and your address book: it enables you to view and back up data from your PC. Moreover, Calendae allows you to consult your calendar and address book from any Internet and WAP access. And you can share your data with other people in read-only access or full access.

How does Calendae synchronisation work?

Your data from Calendae is copied to a local file. This file is synchronised with your Pocket PC application and reloaded on Calendae to update our database. The local file is deleted after synchronisation.
The transfer of your data requires a standard Internet connection (HTTP 1.0 protocol, TCP port 80) and access to it is protected by a random 128-bit password during synchronisation.

Synchronisation with CalendaePPC and CalendaePPCOS:

Both applications have been developed to manage the various synchronisations between your handheld and Calendae.
For each application, you may choose one of the following 3 standard types of synchronisation for your calendar and your address book:
* Copy Calendae to PocketPC : your Calendae data will overwrite Pocket PC.
* Copy PocketPC to Calendae : Pocket PC will overwrite your Calendae data.
* Synchronise : all data created, modified or deleted on Calendae since the last synchronisation is created, modified or deleted on Pocket PC and vice versa.

Using each application:

They perform the same operations and are independent one from the other.

CalendaePPC synchronises your Pocket PC with your Calendae account. It is installed on your PC. It comprises a main section, installed on your PC and an ancillary section installed on your PDA. Since this application is going to process the data on your and your PDA, it requires an Internet connection and a connection with your PDA to perform synchronisation.

CalendaePPCOS synchronises your Pocket PC with your Calendae account. It is a Pocket PC application, installed on your PocketPC. This application needs an Internet connection on your Pocket PC (using a mobile phone, GPRS, Wireless, ActiveSync, etc.), to perform synchronisation.

How to install CalendaePPC (PC version):

- Firstly, you have to configure your Calendae account: from your calendar, select SETTINGS, then select Pocket PC and register.

- Then, you have to download the installation file in the download section.

- Install the software: the installation procedure, developed with InstallShield, will add CalendaePalm to your list of Windows programs. During execution, the files should be copied to your PDA. We use the 'Add/Remove Programs' function of Microsoft ActiveSync. If your PDA is connected during installation, the files will be copied directly, otherwise, they will be copied the next time you connect.

How to install the CalendaePPCOS (Pocket PC version):

- Firstly, you have to configure your Calendae account: from your calendar, select SETTINGS, then select Pocket PC and register.

- Then, you have to download the installation file in the download section.

- This is a ZIP file to be extracted in a temporary directory on your PC. Execute the setup.exe file from the temporary directory. Your PDA should be connected to your computer. Setup.exe will launch CeAppMgr.exe, the installer of ActiveSync. You may remove it from your PDA at any time using ActiveSync.

- Once installation is completed, you must connect to your Calendae account from your PDA using Pocket Internet Explorer because the application will use the cookie created on your PDA for synchronisation. Do not forget to activate cookies on your Pocket Internet Explorer.
